The 2nd backdoor requires you to create an Artifact yourself that allows you to wield the tools, which can be done if you run to the right places, kill the right people and collect the right items, though it's not really something that can be gleaned from reading in-game unless you're 'very' attentive. This method is popular amongst speedrunners, but you don't really receive any reward from it other than the satisfaction of breaking the game. The first MQ 'back-door' is essentially an unintended exploit, whereby you can wield the tools necessary to complete the MQ for enough time to complete the quest, without them killing you. I understand there is a вЂњback doorвЂќ to completing the main quest.Why would/have you done it? :)Д«ut item wise, there's not 'that' much on offer for completing the Main Quest, other than the nice starter services/equipment for level 1's, and the Artifacts collected towards the very end.

The secret Library in particular is an interesting place to browse. If you take the time to read the books that are given to you / deemed relevant to the MQ, you can get a decent understanding of the backstory behind a lot of the actors within Morrowind. I suppose it's nice to get 'Prestige', but personally the main reason that I do the MQ is because I like learning and understanding Morrowind's story. What's the point of the main quest/your personal reason for completing it? RP? Items? Prestige? It makes the final quests significantly more difficult, and the Telvanni wizard isn't going to do something that would purposely weaken him before the greatest battle, as would my Altmer noble. My current character is a snobby daddy's girl Altmer noble who's getting drug through the dirt but will do the quest out of curiosity and eventually, a chance to bring the wayward Dunmer back to the appropriate worship and away from their heathen, misguided ways.ДЄs for the back door method. One was an Emperor Palpatine-esque character that rose through the ranks of the Temple and House Telvanni before completing the Main Quest in order to establish total control over Vvardenfell. I've played a couple of characters over the years, and they've had different reasons for embarking on the main quest. It deals directly in the history of Morrowind, the saga of the Dunmer and their ruling Tribunal. Morrowind's main quest is done in such a way that it eases you into it, and encourages you to go out of the way and explore the world.
